It Takes Courage- Personal thoughts

It Takes Courage

I’ve always admired those
who carry calmness like grace,
who hold patience in their eyes
even when the world rushes past.

I am not one of them—
I am the one who trembles
the moment my plate overflows,
who feels the weight of chaos
before it even begins.

But today,
amid the noise of the market,
I am learning—
to be calm,
to be patient,
to be softer.
To handle things quietly,
to move gently through the storm.

And I’ve realized—
it takes courage to be calm.
It takes courage to stay silent
when the world demands a reaction.
It takes courage to cope
when your heart is the eldest child,
always proving,
always perfecting,
always fearing the judgment
that comes despite the effort.

And the fear—
that if you don’t keep doing,
you’ll be left behind,
and someday regret
what you didn’t chase—
that fear takes courage too.

It takes courage to say “no”
when everything in you whispers “maybe.”
To keep going,
even when you feel unheard,
unseen,
alone.

It takes courage to hide your tears,
to swallow your cries,
to dream of running away
and still stay—
because independence too,
is built on courage.

So I bow—
to every soul who has learned,
who is still learning,
Who is trying to change
and hold themselves together
with nothing but faith and a smile.

Because yes,
it takes courage—
to hold yourself,
and to keep smiling.
